Jitter This refers to fluctuation among clock cycles, which can cause jittery images or bit errors during data transfers. Epson Toyocom uses statistical techniques to regulate the following five types of jitter.

(1) Period jitter (peak to peak)
This indicates the range of fluctuation in multiple one-cycle periods (differential between maximum and minimum values)

(2) RMS jitter (δ)
This indicates the dispersion of fluctuation in multiple one-cycle periods (standard deviation)

(3) Random jitter
This is unpredictable jitter that occurs randomly.

(4) Deterministic Jitter
This is jitter caused by circuits, electromagnetic induction, external environmental factors, etc.

(5) Accumulated Jitter (long-term jitter)
This indicates the dispersion of consecutive clock period fluctuation (standard deviation).
