Reorganization of Manufacturing Sites in Fukushima Completed

Epson Toyocom recently completed a reorganization of its manufacturing sites. The reorganization, which was in the works for a number of years, involved the transfer of production lines from the Hobara Plant (in the city of Date, Fukushima Prefecture) to the Odaka Plant (in the city of Minamisoma, Fukushima Prefecture) and overseas.

Epson Toyocom, aiming to optimize and maximize the efficiency of its production organization, began reorganizing its global production sites following the business integration that formed the company in October 2005. As part of the reorganization, Epson Toyocom decided to transfer production lines from the Hobara Plant, consolidating them in the Odaka Plant and overseas.
As a result, the Hobara Plant is to be closed down at the end of March 2010.

The Odaka Plant will be renamed the Fukushima Plant, effective April 1. With an organization and systems optimized to rapidly respond to market needs, the Fukushima Plant will further fortify product creation and manufacturing in Japan.
