Epson Toyocom's high-precision, high-stability gyro-sensor

Since they were launched in 2005, our quartz gyro-sensors have found their way into a large number of applications, including digital single-lens reflex (SLR) cameras, personal navigations devices (PND), and game controllers. The small size and outstanding accuracy and stability of these gyro-sensors have contributed to advances in these applications.

We have earned the No. 1 share in digital SLR cameras that require the most advanced camera shake correction. *Based on Epson Toyocom research.

Smaller size, same high accuracy and stability

New, even smaller gyro-sensors

Advances in QMEMS technology enabled us to optimize the quartz crystal elements.
Package volume was shrunk an additional 50% without sacrificing precision and stability performance.

Conventional product (XV-3500CB) Size: 5.0 x 3.2 x 1.3t mm
Operating Voltage3.0 V ±0.3 V
Bias1350 mV Typ.
Rate range±100 deg/s
Scale factor0.67 mV/(°・s-1) Typ.
New Product Size: 3.2×2.5×1.3t mm
Operating Voltage3.0 V ±0.3 V
Bias1350 mV Typ.
Rate range±100 deg/s
Scale factor5 mV/(°・s-1) Typ.
Specifications are current as of September 28, 2009, but are subject to change.

Our already small gyro-sensors were downsized an additional 50% yet still deliver the same high precision and stability.

The smaller size further expands the range of applications

Quartz gyro-sensors have pioneered new applications and dramatically expanded the growth of those markets. Further downsizing enables high-accuracy sensing to be provided even on board cell phones and similarly small devices.
