About QMEMS

Photo AT Compact AT crystal units and oscillators using photolithography processing technology

With conventional mechanical processing, the quartz wafer is diced to obtain crystal chips that are then beveled. The shape of the crystal chips thus varies. With photolithographic processing, however, the chips are microfabricated on the wafer level, so there is comparatively little variation in the shape of the crystal chips. Differences in shape show up as differences in crystal device characteristics.

A photolithographic process enables the formation of uniformly shaped crystal chips, and even sub-miniature crystal units offer outstanding temperature characteristics with minimal variation.
